МЕТОДИЧЕСКАЯ  ЗАПИСКА

Учебно-методическое пособие “Integrate Your Grammar and 

Vocabulary” предназначено для занятий с аспирантами, изучающими 
английский язык в научном дискурсе в многопрофильном 
вузе. Цель пособия – активизировать и закрепить лексико-грамматические 
навыки работы с текстами общенаучной тематики. 

Текстовый материал содержит аутентичные тексты, отобран-

ные методом сплошной выборки из англоязычных источников: 
монографий, журналов и газет, издаваемых в Великобритании  
и США. 

Пособие состоит из 16 грамматических модулей, содержа-

щих упражнения и краткие объяснения основных грамматических 
и лексических трудностей, характерных для общенаучных 
текстов. Пособие также снабжено приложением с ключами 
к упражнениям.

Упражнения могут служить как обучающим, так и контроли-

рующим средством. Обучающиеся могут работать с имеющимися 
в пособии материалами в режиме самоконтроля (при самостоятельной 
работе вне аудитории), используя ключи к упражнениям. 
Имеющиеся в пособии таблицы позволяют четко фиксировать в 
памяти материал, требующий запоминания, а также способствуют 
развитию навыков анализа и обобщения лексико-грамматических 
особенностей общенаучных текстов.

Пособие является первой частью серии учебных пособий для 

аспирантов “Academic English for Postgraduates”, предназначенных 
для развития навыков работы с научными текстами.

СИСТЕМА  ВРЕМЕН  АНГЛИЙСКОГО  ГЛАГОЛА  

(активный залог) 

1. Раскройте скобки, выбирая правильную форму сказуемого (Present 

Simple or Present Continuous), (Past Simple or Past Continuous)

1. Inflation erodes/is eroding our real wages.
2. The full-year figures showed/were showing a downturn.
3. About one American worker in four depends/is depending for his 

job on the activities of government directly or indirectly.

4. Some enterprises are going bankrupt, and others become/are 

becoming profitable.

5. The losses in this year’s conflict (the Chechnya campaign) happen/ 

are happening at a rate equal to those in Afghanistan.

6. The year draws/is drawing to a close.
7. It is more than 25 years since she left/was leaving England to begin 

a new life in the Middle East.

8. The group had/was having talks about launching a subscription 

television channel.

9. But what we see/are seeing in practice is the inadequate bankruptcy 

law.

10. This group considers/is considering whether or not to invest in a 

business.

11. I thought I was/was being very businesslike when I asked to see the 

(accounting) books.

12. He called me at home while I had/was having lunch.
13. Italy’s workers see now/are now seeing cuts in their real wages.
14. The fact the car companies are having to use other routes has/is 

having a major effect on us.

15. They are just stupid/are just being stupid by not keeping the market 

informed.

16. We still feel/are still feeling a little nervous after last year’s stock 

market performance.

17. The federal bureaucracy shapes/is shaping and implements/is 

implementing federal policy.

18. The Defense Department’s share of the total Federal budget usu-

ally ranges/is ranging between 25 and 30 percent.

20. But anyone who expects immediate changes is not/is not being

3. Переведите на английский язык обстоятельства времени,  

стоящие в скобках. Обратите внимание на то, что они,  

как правило, встречаются в предложениях, сказуемое которых  

стоит в группе времен Present Perfect 

l. He has been out of work (в течение длительного времени). 
2. (За последние 10 лет) the Japanese market place has grown from 

8 % to 41 %. 

3. Tremendous changes have taken place in the world (за прошедшие

4. He has been in electronics (в течение большей части своей жизни).

6. (Исторически/Традиционно). Europe has depended on US grain 

and minerals but Europe has now become a major grain exporter.

9. There is a saying that no man has tasted the full flavour of life (до
