Abstract: Two world wars have made the world shudder; they influenced the development of culture and 
society in general. At the period from 1914 to 1970 in Russian cinema was dominated by the work associated 
with the military theme. The report examines the stages of formation of the national cinema, namely the 
development of the military genre.
