level (-0,75), testosterone and verbal aggression (-0,72). The significance of hormonal influence in both experimental groups was confirmed by the results of factor analysis. Thus, in the group 1 of athletes a strong correlation was detected between the 1-st factor (37,14 % of total variance) and total cortisol level and TCC (-0,85 и 0,77, respectively) as well as between the 2-nd factor (24,88 % of total variance) and testosterone and TCC (0,91 and 0,78, respectively). In the group 2 of athletes a strong positive correlation was revealed between the 2-nd factor (26,03 % of total variance) and testosterone, cortisol levels and TCC (0,96, -0,87 and 0,97, respectively). CONCLUSIONS. Thus, the testosterone and cortisol significantly influence on aggressiveness indexes in athletes in training period. Absolute concentrations of these hormones appear to be as informative as their ratio (the Testosterone/Cortisol coefficient). REFERENCES 1. Gryasnikh A.V.
Galazhinsky bushov1945@mail.ru Phase interactions between EEG rhythms of high and low frequency during perception of short time intervals were studied. It was established that close phase interactions are most commonly observed between gamma activity and EEG rhythms of low frequency (0.5-30 Hz), and also between different frequencies of gamma activity. Key words: perception of time, phase interactions, EEG rhythms. A topical task in systemic psychophysiology is the study of mechanisms of the functional unification of neurons during cognitive activity. Pioneering studies of N.M. Livanov and his successors demonstrated the important role played by spatial frequency synchronization of electrical activity of the brain in mechanisms of intracerebral integration. At the same time in recent years a point of view has become more and more popular among researchers according to which a special role in functional unification of neurons is assigned to nonlinear and phase interactions between electrical potentials of brain [3]. Along with this, the role of these interactions in cognitive processes and in systemic activity of the brain has been studied insufficiently. The aim of this study was to investigate the role of phase interactions between EEG rhythms during perception of time. Methods. Volunteers, students at different Tomsk universities, generally healthy young males (27 people) and females (29 people) aged 18-22, took part in this study. All the particiapnts gave informed consent to participate in this research. During the preliminary examination with H. Eysenck tests verbal and nonverbal intelligence and levels of extroversion and neuroticism were investigated. Peculiarities of lateral brain organization with the definition of dominant hand and speech hemisphere were investigated using a set of standard tests. During the studies it was suggested that the testees reproduce and measure short time intervals, 200 and 800 ms long, with and without
feedback about the results of activity. EGG was registered in metopic, central, parietal, temporal and occipital leads according to the principle “10-20 %” before and during perception of time. Bispectral wavelet analysis was used and bicoherence function [1] was calculated while studying phase interactions between EEG rhythms. The rank Spearman correlation coefficient was calculated while analyzing correlations between the investigated figures. In order to evaluate the influence of the investigated factors (“gender”, “stage of activity” and “kind of activity”) on phase interactions multivariate dispersion analysis was employed. Results. Bicoherent analysis enabled us to discover close inner and interhemispheric phase interactions between EEG rhythms both in the background and while perceiving time. It appeared that phase interactions are most commonly (in approximately 60-70% of cases) observed between gamma wave and low-frequency EEG components (0.5-30 Hz), and also between different frequencies of gamma activity. The values of the bicoherent function at these frequencies reach 0.8 and more. Dispersion analysis showed that the factors (“gender”, “stage of activity” and “kind of activity” have a statistically significant effect on inner and interhemispheric phase interactions. At the same time the conducted studies enabled us to discover the presence of statistically significant correlations of the level of inner and interhemispheric phase interactions with the figures of verbal and nonverbal intelligence, extroversion and neuroticism, peculiarities of lateral brain organization and accuracy of time perception. The figure of the found Spearman correlation coefficients in absolute value varied Thus, the conducted studies showed that there are close inner and interhemispheric phase interactions between EEG rhythms of high and low frequency. The nature of these interactions depends on the kind and stage of activity and personality traits. A special role in the formation of the mentioned phase interactions is apparently played by the gamma wave, as these interactions are most commonly observed between gamma wave and other EEG rhythms, and also between different frequencies of gamma activity. This is probably connected with the fact that the gamma wave provides the increase in synaptic inputs efficiency [2] and hence promotes formation of the studied phase interactions and functional unification of neurons.
