centers with reduced macrophage activity in them. There were also lymphoid follicles without germinal centers which made 20% of the number of total follicles in the spleen. It should be noted that such follicles became smaller and irregularly shaped. The red pulp had marked regions of extramedullar hemapoiesis in isolated pockets. Thus, in this group spleen tissue of experimental animals demonstrated reduction of local immune response and appearance of hemapoiesis in extramedullar foci which demonstrated compensatory response to the violation of hemapoiesis in bone marrow. Under the MT + PC radiation morphological indices revealed deeper oppression of the local immune homeostasis. In the white pulp of the spleen there were dramatically increased degradation and reduction in the amount of white pulp. However, only 80% of lymphoid follicles had germinal centers which have been drastically reduced and deformed. Periarterial lymphoid coupling also decreases sharply, exposing the pulp artery. The walls of some arteries were thickened by hyalinosis up to obliteration of the lumen. Only 20% of lymphoid follicles had narrowed germinal centers with separate macrophages. The proliferative activity of lymphoid cells decreased. In periarterial lymph sheaths there was detected sharp narrowing of the lumen and the reduction of cellular elements in them, as the number of lymphoid cells and macrophages. The red pulp cords had marked thickening of the pulp and connective trabeculae, the emergence of multiple foci of extramedullar hemapoiesis, impaired circulation to the formation of small hemorrhages. Thus, the effect of electromagnetic radiation caused by the combined use of a PC and the MT leads to structural changes of the spleen, indicating a significant decrease of the local cellular and humoral immune homeostasis. Fibrosis of spleen red pulp trabeculae and vessels leads to increased ischemia and impaired hemapoiesis. Less pronounced inhibition of white pulp lymphoid tissue of the spleen of rats was observed in the group of animals with either MT or PC radiation whereby compensatory response was considered as extension of the germinal centers of lymphoid follicles which imitated immune response to the antigen.
